Learning, Education & Support Opportunities

These promote male friendly, ethical and strength based approaches, helps develop skills and confidence and are suitable for carers, social workers, counselors, outreach workers and those working within legal, advocacy, medical, educational, criminal justice and other settings. We are committed to developing and working in partnership with everyone to promote best practice and minimum standards when working with boys.

These unique learning and support opportunities include:

  • Curriculum based training and ongoing developmental support for individuals, groups and organisations – relating to essential skills through to specialist issues for supporting male victims, survivors and families
  • Help developing tools and approaches for working with boys and young men.
  • Specialist training needs assessments for teams and organisations
  • Tailor made workshops for teams, NGOs and others – ranging from half day to others lasting several days
  • A range of specialist support forums for staff working with boys in all settings; forums for counselors and managers will also be provided on a regular basis.
  • Individual and group consultation, supervision and support opportunities
  • Support for NGOs in relation to project evaluation, reflection, learning, planning and development
  • A comprehensive library and resources center focusing on issues for boys and men
  • Future research studies are being planned to enhance our understanding of this issue. The findings and implications for practice will be fed into future training and events, as well as shared on this web site.
