Social Work & Support Services

Our research and experience tells us that the needs of male survivors and their families are diverse and therefore our services are equally diverse, flexible and creative – building on strengths to achieve what is best for children and young people. Our team is specially trained to work in a range of settings – with children and families and within communities, institutions, orphanages and through outreach.

First Step services include confidential access to:

  • Assessments of need and risk
  • Individual social work and counseling services for boys and young men
  • Group and peer support where and when required
  • Outreach support
  • Assessments and help for families, parents and carers
  • Working in partnership with others to enable access to and provide appropriate referrals when required for accommodation, legal and medical support, education and vocational training, leisure and sport, peer support and befriending.
  • Assessments, services and support for children and young people with harmful sexual behaviours
  • Individual advocacy through casework
  • Awareness raising and prevention activities and follow up within communities
